It’s been a while since our last update, and while we’re overdue some news on the refurbishment of Basingstoke Ice Rink, that doesn’t mean things have been quiet behind the scenes at the Junior Bison!
Our board recently met for the first time since the rink closure to discuss the next steps and where we go from here as a club. While the wait for the rink to reopen continues, we see this as an opportunity—once we have ice again, we have the chance to start fresh and explore new ideas for how we run our club. Change can be a good thing, and we want to make sure that when we do return, we come back stronger than ever.
With that in mind, we would love to hear from you! What would you like to see from your team? Are there any ideas or changes you think could help make the Junior Bison even better? Whether it’s fresh approaches to training, team structure, or off-ice activities, your input is invaluable.
When will we see ice in Basingstoke?
At the same time, we’ve reached out to Planet Ice to ask for an estimated reopening date and what this means for the 2025-2026 season. If the rink doesn’t reopen in time for the start of the season, we need to think about what we as a club can offer the ice hockey community in the meantime. There are still lots of discussions to be had, and plenty of ideas to explore.
While we wait for more details on the refurbishment, rest assured that we are committed to keeping the Junior Bison spirit alive. We’ll continue to push for updates and ensure that when the time comes, we’re ready to hit the ice once again.
Stay tuned, and as always, we’d love to hear your thoughts!
